AVL Low-Voltage Technician

Position Description
Responsible for the installation of commercial audio, video, and theatrical lighting equipment, including but not limited to cable, fiber optics and electronic devices. The installer is responsible for installing and terminating the products in the most efficient and effective manner. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Clair Brothers, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. Travel may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling wire – short and long runs, verifying wires pulled
  • Installing speakers, yokes, screens, lights and racks 
  • Understanding rigging and all safety requirements involved
  • Termination of all field wiring to devices, including low-voltage data and Datacom networking
  • Accurately notate field changes on drawings for incorporation into as-built set
  • Read flow charts and wire diagrams
  • Successful history working on large commercial construction projects with other trades
  • Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program
  • Use and safely operate power tools

Qualifications

Education: Prefer a formal education in Electronics or a related field.
Industry Certifications: CTS preferred.

Audio Designer

Position Description
Responsible for selling and designing permanent audio systems for theaters, churches, auditoriums, amusement parks, and baseball parks, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare budgets, proposals and secure quotes for customer and client projects as required
  • Interact daily and communicate effectively with the Sales Department and provide technical information and support.
  • Provide formative conceptual drawings to the client and the sales department as part of the sales approval process
  • Train owner operations and maintenance staff and participate in the maintenance and installation of all equipment.  Supply documentation in setup and training of systems, and develop online training materials as appropriate

Basic Requirements

Qualifications

Experience: 2-4 years system design experience is required while 5-8’ years’ is preferred, including 3-year design experience on large-scale performance systems. Experience in commercial audio systems installation is required. AutoCAD and EASE as well as other industry-specific software such as Audio Architect, Performance Manager, Q-SYS and Dashboard is preferred.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Strong deductive analysis and critical reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills.

Broadcast Video Engineer:

Position Description:
Person will work closely with the Engineering Manager and will assist in the daily management and delivery of information to internal sales staff, internal engineering staff, and client technical operating and maintenance staff. This position is based in Manheim, PA, and will require extensive travel.


Responsibilities

  • Work with vendors for the purchase of parts and services required for systems designed or engineered in house or as part of a bid process
  • Prepare budgets, proposals, and secure quotes for customer and client projects as required
  • Interact daily and communicate effectively with Sales Department and provide technical leadership and support to all departments. 
  • Evaluate equipment specifications and make recommendations for the acquisition of new operational and maintenance equipment for conceived and deployed systems
  • Provide extensive IT support for broadcast equipment
  • Train owner operations and maintenance staff and participate in the maintenance and installation of all equipment.   Supply documentation in setup and training of systems, and develop online training materials as appropriate
  • Make recommendations for troubleshooting equipment where problems occur and instruct clients and internal staff in regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment upgrades, and firmware and software upgrades
  • Execute necessary corrective actions in off hours for service/support of deployed systems in all regions, document technical problems, and report them to management in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow all National Electric Codes, and follow all regulations as dictated by OSHA and the FCC

Qualifications

  • A background including television broadcast system design and advanced IT skills are required.
  • Proven experience in television broadcasting and live event production is required.
  • Proven experience in LED wall and video projector setup, calibration, and servicing is required.
  • Strong background in interpersonal communication and leadership skills will be necessary in this role. 

 Education

  • SBE Certification preferred
  • SMPTE Certification preferred
  • InfoComm CTS-D Certification preferred
  • Technical degree in electronics or related experience is required

Experience

  • Qualified candidates should have ten years television broadcast and live production technical experience working in broadcast engineering and live production operations environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of television production and familiar with all studio production equipment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of live event audio production and familiar with all audio production equipment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of theatrical lighting production and familiar with all theatrical lighting production equipment.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of technical setup in file base editing systems including networking and storage solutions.
  • Must be knowledgeable in system design software including Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.  Extensive experience in the advance usage of spreadsheet and word processing software is also required.
  • Must possess computer operating systems knowledge for Linux, Mac Windows and advanced IPv6 system architecture.

Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Reasonable mathematical skills required.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be a team player with positive attitude and initiative.

AVL Technical Sales Manager

Position Description
This position is responsible for selling and designing permanent audio, video, lighting and rigging systems for theaters, churches, auditoriums, amusement parks, and baseball parks. It ensures that professional business relationships exist with customers, third parties, and other external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Reading blueprints and specifications to prepare product take-offs/quotes
  • Prepare budgets, proposals and secure quotes for customer and client projects as required
  • Work closely with Regional Manager/Systems Designer to ensure the integrity of the quotes prepared
  • Interact daily and communicate effectively with Regional Manager/Systems Designer and provide technical information and support
  • Provide formative conceptual drawings to client and sales as part of the sales approval process
  • Prospecting qualified leads to generate quote opportunities for Clair Solutions in the Dallas office
  • Consult with owners, general contractors, architects and consultants in person to understand main points and build customized AVL solutions to fit their needs
  • Meet with clients (in person and via the phone) to effectively manage the sale, delivery and support of products, services and solutions
  • Complete all communication and quoting responsibilities on time and submit all written reports as assigned to meet deadlines

Sr. AVL Technican/Project Manager

Position Description
Responsible for the oversight of audio, video, and theatrical lighting equipment installation, including but not limited to cable, fiber optics and electronic devices to be delivered per the contract, on time, on budget, safely and adhering to all Clair Solutions’ quality assurance standards. The Project Manager shall have full responsibility for the successful planning, organizing, controlling and monitoring of all projects assigned. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Clair Solutions, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. Travel required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling, managing & coordinating the available labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and technical expertise.
  • Perform site meetings and inspections as required.
  • Day-to-day operations of all assigned projects
  • Communicate with management in advance about staffing requirements
  • Coordinate and approve equipment and products needs with the design team as well as Purchasing
  • Effective interaction and correspondence with multiple construction trades
